Allyria McBride

Allyria McBride is the Community & Narrative Change Fellow at Root to Flourish Collective and a participant of the Hazel M. Johnson Fellowship with Black Girl Environmentalist.

Allyria is a graduating senior at Vanderbilt University pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Sociology and Communication of Science and Technology. With a genuine passion for sustainability, community engagement, and creative problem-solving, Allyria has spent her four years at Vanderbilt building an impressive record both inside and outside the classroom.

Allyria's academic journey is a rich portfolio of professional experience spanning environmental research, nonprofit advocacy, education, and media. She has analyzed renewable energy legislation, led community listening sessions for underrepresented women in climate spaces, and led sewing workshops, developed curriculum, and taught students practical methods for reducing clothing waste. This breadth of experience speaks to her adaptability and her drive to explore how different industries intersect with the causes she cares about most.

At Vanderbilt, Allyria is also a phenomenal Division I Track & Field athlete. She has represented the United States at the Pan-American Games, earned multiple SEC and NCAA All-America honors, and was named the Vanderbilt Track & Field 2025 MVP. Balancing a rigorous academic schedule with the demands of elite competition has sharpened her discipline and leadership in ways that carry over into every room she walks into.
